Avimec is a topical ‘drop on’ liquid for the treatment of Scaly Face Mite (Knemidokoptes pilae) in budgerigars
Can use with:
Avimec is for external use only and is safe to use in conjunction with food additives and supplements and with other oral medications.
DIRECTIONS:
Dosage and administration:
Birds less than 30g body weight apply 1 dropBirds between 30-100g body weights apply 2 dropsRepeat application weekly for three dosesPlace drops on an unfeathered area of skinTreat all birds in the aviaryFull recovery may take up to 6 weeks
Ivermectin can be used for the treatment of Air Sac mite
When formulated correctly the drug is absorbed through the skin and acts over about a week
The bird should be treated once weekly for 3 weeks. The drops are applied to an unfeathered part of the skin
1 drop for birds under 30g (1oz)2 drops per 30-100g (1-4oz) body weight..
Please note: cattle pour on products are not suitable as they give a massive overdose of drug which may be fatal to the bird. The use of Ivermectin in water is discouraged. Ivermectin as a chemical does not like water and starts to break down quickly as soon as it is added to water.
